She is dedicated to empowering women and girls to grow and inspiring them to become changemakers. Through her organization, Verde Mar, Peraza leads a campaign to raise awareness within Costa Rica's coastal communities about the Escazú Agreement, emphasizing its role in protecting environmental rights, access to justice, and land defense. It seeks to mobilize communities and organizations ahead of the 2026 national elections to push for the agreement’s ratification and strengthen protections for vulnerable coastal populations.
