Sival da Silva Fiuza should make the news.
Sival da Silva Fiuza, 22, is a young leader and agroecology multiplier from the traditional rural community of Ponta da Serra, in Serra Talhada, Pernambuco, in the Brazilian semi-arid region (Caatinga), where he works on the Escola das Juventudes / Centro Sabiá project to promote the agroecological transition and Agroforestry Systems. With a strong connection to his territory and a constant struggle against the lack of public policies and the severe impacts of climate change (such as rain scarcity and deforestation), Sival advocates for the valorization of the ancestral knowledge of the Caatinga, a 100% Brazilian biome that is vital for CO2 absorption, actively seeking its global recognition and support, including through his participation in the COP.
