LAND RIGHTS NOW
Cindy Kobei
should make the news.
Cindy Kobek hails from the Ogiek community of the Mau forest, Kenya. Cindy works tirelessly with the Tirap Youth Trust to mobilize young Indigenous people to fight climate change in Kenya. Her goal, she says, is to “grow a generation of indigenous human rights defenders” so future generations will inherit a climate just future. At COP27, Cindy is advocating for a focus on the implementation of the Glasgow 26 Climate Pact and Indigenous land rights.
